The Butcher

This song is a story about a young guy who was working as a butcher. He got up very early multiple times a week to work in an average butcher in South Denmark where he made minced meat. He never liked his job, and the people he worked with. He always talked really bad about the job to his friends, and how mean the other butchers were.
One day the butcher guy quit his job, which he was really happy about. Since that day his friends have called him The Butcher or in danish Slagteren.
This guy is… yes, it is actually a story about me, when I was working at the local butcher in the supermarket. This was not the biggest success of my career, but certainly something to remember.

This song is based on a catchy bassline with a Drum’n bass drumbeat, that supports how I felt when I was working in the butcher. The whole melody builds up to the drum solo where I invite you into my head and all my frustrations and thoughts about this job. As you can hear it sounds pretty chaotic and stressful. After the solo, the song goes back to the melody where we added more layers, like the soprano sax on top of the tenor sax and the different percussion sounds. This created the big grand finale of the tune, where you can imagine me quiting the job that I hated so much.
